Upgrade Bikes was founded by two friends who met at secondary school in 1979 and were both into bikes; they loved GT and Kuwahara BMXs, tracker bikes assembled from anything they could find, Klunkers and early MTBs, Dawes Galaxies and Falcon Black Diamonds to name but a few that further fuelled their passion for a life behind bars. This passion ultimately led them to starting Upgrade Bikes in 1995.

28 years later Upgrade is full of wonderful staff with a devotion for all things bikes, biking and life on two wheels, whether that is Gravel, Road, MTB, BMX, TT, racing, exploring, commuting or a relaxing jaunt, we have friendly and knowledgeable people here to help with any enquiries or questions that you may have regarding any of the 5,000 plus products from the family of brands that we stock, service and support.
