Sam and Blake have justreturned from teh Qashqai qualifier in Madrid, where tehy did us proud, read on for full details and check out www.dmrbikes.com for tehir profiles.
For our 1st runs, Blake did a no hander to x up on the first jump, 1 foot table up the satellite dish, x up off, no hander then a tailwhip! An amazing run which gave him 241 points.I did a backflip on the first, table up the satellite dish, tyre grab down, no hander then a tailwhip, but coming up a little short on the last jump and casing a bit! Still I was pretty happy and got 237 points.
After a 20 minute ride through the streets of Madrid at 100mph, we had our second qualifying runs, and the better of the two would count for qualifying…
A two foot can can off the first jump, backflip onto the satellite dish, no hander then a 360 tabletop at the end. I was really stoked with my run but only got 252 points.
Blake was next, doing a superman off the first jump, no foot can up the dish, x up down, no hander then a tailwhip, another amazing run! He just slipped past me with 253 points!
In the end our runs just weren’t quite good enough and as the big guns came out we found ourselves slipping further and further down the list until finishing in 22nd and 23rd place! We were happy none the less, and only being 14 points off 15th place and qualifying was a good feeling with so many pro riders competing. They were just unbelievable. Tricks that would win UK comps were pulled midset, backflips and 360s down the drop, double tailwhips, 360whips, flipwhips, superman flips and frontflips were all the norm for most of those guys.
We decided to go out and celebrate that night getting really drunk at the rider party!
Well done boys, we are sure you will nail it next year!
Great Britain Cycling Team star Chris Newton, who is a strong contender to be part of the GB team for this year's Olympics, broke his left collarbone following an incident with a car whilst out cycling in March.
"Since then I've just been concentrating on getting fit again and its only now I've started to use my low pro after putting it together. Thanks again for your support and i hope the pics are ok."

The Upgrade boys were out and about at the Wiggle Enduro 6 last weekend.
They displayed a full range of product from: Lezyne, Motor Tabs, Geax, Reynolds, Kinesis, Oval and DMR. The Lezyne tools were fiddled with, the Reynolds wheels were drooled over, the Kinesis frames were longed for and the Motor Tabs were constantly sampled.
On the Sunday Tom and Paddy even found the time and energy to race in the Enduro 6 race alongside sales rep Roy Hunt (who won his class - well done Roy.)
The next outing will be the Bristol bikefest (7/8th June) followed by Mountain Mayhem (22/23/24th June) - See you there!
